Canadian Government opens door to Ukrainian Immigrants: The Canadian Government is introducing new immigration measures for Ukrainian Immigrants who are fleeing from the Russian Invasion. These measures are specifically for those who want to move to Canada permanently or temporarily. Canada has the third-largest Ukrainian diaspora in the world with a massive population of 1.4 million people. So this makes the government assist as many Ukrainians as possible. Ukrainians who wish to come to Canada on a temporary term will be able to obtain a Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel. And this authorization has no limit on the number of immigrants who wish to apply. This one has an “unlimited number of Ukrainian Immigrants” Allowance.
Background checks and security screenings and they will have their stay in Canada extended further at least for 2 years. IRCC(Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada ) also is trying to work their extended pathways open for application in two weeks.
New Measures for Ukrainian Immigrants
IRCC will also implement a sponsorship program for permanent residents. The details for this program will be coming up in the coming weeks. All Ukrainians who come to Canada under this measure will be applied for Openwork Permits. So they will be able to work for any employer in Canada. IRCC has already made available for Ukrainians currently in Canada.
IRCC has also issued more information on these temporary & permanent residence programs, Including processing times, which will be available in the future. Canada is allowing unvaccinated Ukrainians to enter the country if they have a temporary resident visa or written notice that their application for permanent residence in Canada was approved.
Canada will be prioritizing processing travel documents for Canadians & their family who wish to return from Ukraine. IRCC will issue single-journey travel documents for immediate family members of Canadian citizens also some ease for Permanent residents who do not have valid passports.
Ukrainian nationals in Canada can apply to extend their status as a visitor or any other. Canada will prioritize new renewal of work and study permits the renewal, and extend a policy that allows people to apply for a work permit within Canada.

Openwork permits
IRCC will issue open work permits to Ukrainian visitors, workers, and students who are currently in Canada & cannot go home, Fees will be retroactive to February 22, 2022, for certain travel & immigration documents, such as Canadian passports, permanent resident documents, citizenship proof & work or study permits.

IRCC has already started working on increasing operational readiness by moving staff, moving additional supplies & equipment like mobiles, biometric collection kits of an increased volume of requests, and adjusting operations in offices
