Latest Express Entry Draw #217 invited 1047 candidates for Canada PR: A new Express Entry draw #217 was announced on March 2 2022 in which Canada released invitations to 1,047 Express Entry Candidates. These candidates can now apply for the Permanent Residency in Canada. In order to get invited for this Express Entry, applicants must be nominated by PNP (Provincial Nominee Program). Candidates need to have a CRS Score (Comprehensive Ranking System) of a minimum of 761 points to get eligible for this Express Entry Draw. Moreover, this cutoff score basically includes 600 points that are automatically awarded to the applicant when they get the nomination. This is the reason why the score in these PNP Express Entry Draw is significantly higher than the other draws. Apart from the points that are awarded to the applicants, candidates need just 161 CRS points.
Invited Candidates now have 60 days to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence, In the previous round, IRCC invited a total of 1,082 PNP Candidates Immigration. Also, it was a record for the Number of Express entry Candidates.
Statement By the Immigration Minister
As of now, it is expected to see the majority of PNP draws, however, as per the announcement made by Immigration minister Sean Fraser, Canada will soon be resuming the other draws such as FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program), CEC (Canadian Experience Class) and FSTP (Federal Skilled Trades Program), as this situation will be temporary. Moreover, Express entry targets will be cut in half for skilled workers. Canadian Minister Stated in a webinar that IRCC would resume draws for skilled workers “ shortly”
In 2019 or before, most of the Express Entry invitations were sent to FSWP candidates. In 2021, most of the invitations were made for CEC candidates compared to other programs, until it resumed its CEC draw in September. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the closures created a backlog of 1.8 million people who are waiting on the decision of the immigration

Canada is expecting to bring 83,500 immigrants through both Express Entry and PNP bases in 2022. Also, the new target is more than the government projected in the previous plans which were 81,500 PNP immigrants for 2022 & 83,000 PNP immigrants for 2023.
