The recent draw was held on August 31 which invited 2,750 fresh applicants to Canada. As we all know that candidates are invited based on their CRS score. And the minimum CRS score requirement for the Express Entry Draw August 31 was 516 points. So, the candidates who were able to meet this requirement received an ITA. How does Express Entry work?
Express Entry consists of three streams in it through which people can apply for Canadian PR. Following are the three streams:
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FTWP)
- The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
All three streams have their eligibility criteria. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria and if they can meet the requirements, they can apply for it by creating an online profile.
Once candidates made an online profile they will enter into the express entry pool. A Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is then used to give points to candidates based on several factors like age, qualification, or work experience. And the candidates who have high CRS scores have greater chances of getting an ITA.

Processing time updates for Express Entry Draw August 2022
The average processing time for an express entry file to be processed after the submission of all the documents is 6 months. However, IRCC mentioned that there are 2.4 million files that are to be processed out of which 1.3 million files are already there for more than 6 months. So, IRCC is continuously giving updates on its failure to process the files on time and clear backlog. But it doesn’t mean that IRCC is not putting effort to clear the backlog. Recently IRCC mentioned that it is hiring new staff to increase productivity and improve Canadian Immigration. Now, the target of Canadian immigration is to process 80 percent of the files within 6 months by the end of the year 2022.
Documents required after receiving ITA
If your CRS score is high enough and you get the ITA, you have to get your documents ready and submit them for inquiry to get PR.
