What is express entry?
Express Entry is a system to get Canadian PR for skilled workers. The government of Canada always wants to invite people who can contribute well to the economy of the country. So, for this purpose, a system came into effect in 2015. There are three streams within the express entry.
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program
- The Canadian Experience Class
Anyone meeting the basic requirements of any one of the streams can apply for PR. The applicants first need to create an online profile by providing some information. Based on that information, the applicants are awarded a CRS score. CRS is a Comprehensive Ranking System that is used by the Canadian Government to select candidates from the express entry pool. Once, the candidates are in the pool, they need to wait for the draw to be held. And in each draw, candidates with the highest CRS scores receive ITA.
Documents required for Canada express entry
To apply for Canadian Permanent Residency, candidates need to create an online express entry profile. So, to create a profile you need the following documents:
- a passport
- language test results
- proof of Canadian education if you want to get points for education
- provincial nomination in case you have
- job offer from a Canadian employer (optional)
After creating a profile, candidates wait in the pool to get ITA. And when they meet the minimum CRS score requirement for a draw, they are likely to receive ITA. If candidates receive ITA, they need to submit the following documents to the government for inquiry.
- police certificates
- medical exams
- marriage certificate (if you are declaring your status as married)
- copies of documents you used in your profile
- other documents you feel are relevant to your application
Express Entry 2022 Processing Time
The average processing time for an express entry application is 6 months to 12 months. From the day you are done submitting all your documents, it will take them 6 months to 12 months to assess your application.
However, the processing time can always vary. The following are the factors that affect the processing time for PR applications:
- the type of application submitted
- how easy it is to verify your information
- how long do you take to respond to any request
- number of applications to be processed
